Our Process
Our Thickfilm® vacuum coating metallization process ensures the quality of our coatings' performance!
Flexbrite's leading edge, patented Thickfilm® process maximizes the quality and performance of your coated components. During a Thickfilm® application, a high density plasma is infused with metal ions which are then deposited on the selected area of the substrate. This can be the entire part, the outside diameter, inside diameter or smaller specific areas such as threads or connection ports. Our metallurgically compatible coatings are applied in a high filtration clean room or in our quality controlled open shop environment, as needed.
Because Thickfilm® uses low voltage, low temperature depositions, no tempering or heat treating will be affected and your Flexbrite coated components will have:
- Extraordinarily uniform coatings,
- Coated surfaces with nominal measurement changes (thin coatings do not affect machining/engineering specifications), and
- Smooth coating surfaces with superior anti-galling and reflectivity properties.
