Coating Application

Our application process provides unsurpassed uniformity and doesn't change the substrate's specifications by more than 3 atoms.

Steps:
Surface Prep | Coating Prep | Coating Application | Post Application

Item being coated in the tank.We set up the coating system with automated and manual electronic controls, calibrating each respective control to the appropriate level to perform the "shot" (i.e., bringing evaporation units to the proper temperature, releasing it from a solid to a vapor state and depositing the coating on the substrate).

We then depressurize the tank to the exact level of negative vacuum pressure for the coating application. Electronic monitors assist us in initiating the process and determining when conditions are ideal to begin the process. A beam of charged ions of the desired metals is formed by feeding a gas into the vacuum chamber where electrons, emitted from evaporation units, ionize the gas and form a plasma. An electrical current is then induced which surrounds the substrate and bombards the ions back into the area to be coated.
